Nowadays almost every female loves a new accessories of some sort, especially with all the wide varieties of costume jewelry in stores like Afaze, Claires, even random dept. stores. Although we love to buy these accessories they tend to tarnish real quickly which can become a bummer because you sometimes need to throw them out. Here are my techniques to keeping my costume jewelry around even longer! Very Simple.

I like to use clear Spray Paint by Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch | Gloss Clear finish. Any clear gloss spray can will do. Now if you will be using this spray paint i recommend doing this outside or by an open window with lots of ventilation because the smell is strong but once dried it’ll go away. I like to use a wicker basket or newspaper to lay my jewelry out to dry. It will dry in less than half hour so it’s pretty quick.

It is important to wear rubber gloves and hold the jewelry while you spray paint them. Once fully covered you can lay them out to dry. You may see runs or feel it sticky, or it can be liquid white but it will dry clear and smooth. If you have dangly earrings like chandelier style, they will stick together like glue but in a way its not so bad cause once dry you can pull them apart and they’ll dangle again. It’s just you want to make sure they are all evenly coated and dried before use. I just let them dry by my window the necklaces / dangly earrings i tape or hang at my window, you can find a cup or anything that will allow to let your earrings dry.

Once dry they may feel stiff but once you wiggle it around a little with your hand and wear them they will loosen up and go back to normal. Just store them away as usual when dried. Hope this helped :) enjoy!
